In May 2020 Elon Musk stated in his interview with Joe Rogan, “The Roadster is a bit like dessert. That means we have to have the meat, the potatoes, the vegetables before“. But with Mars Orbiter – named after the red roadster which Musk sent to space in February 2018 – the dessert comes first: Since the foundation of our company the main focus was to provide the fleet of roadsters throughout Germany and Europe with high-quality services so that they wouldn’t have to be discarded due to PEM or battery malfunctions, but have a long and happy life roaming the streets. But we will serve the ‘main course‘ as well, taking care of all electric vehicles, from the Tesla Roadster to models from other car manufacturers already existing and yet to come.

How we have helped our customers

New Shock Absorbers for Tesla Roadster

Anyone who drives a Tesla Roadster is familiar with the rattling in the rear axle and the clicking in the front axle that indicate wear in the shock absorbers. But what can you do when the shocks are worn out and original parts are no longer available? Overhauling by outside suppliers is cumbersome, rarely works smoothly, and you simply can’t get the parts back to the condition they were in before. After a short time, the old noise returns. We searched for a better alternative and found it.

A renommized manufacturer in the Netherlands developed a new damper for us, which is specially designed for the weight of the Roadster and harmonizes with the springs of the sport shock absorbers from Eibach. The new shock absorbers are fully adjustable in rebound and compression just like the original shock absorbers of the sports models and are of course TÜV approved. We offer these new parts permanently, the delivery time is about 3 weeks.

Battery Care

The battery is the heart of your electric vehicle. Careful charging and driving can significantly extend its life. Batteries are also sensitive to temperature due to chemical processes inside the battery. There are valves on the bottom of the battery that regulate the air supply. When the battery heats up, air goes out; when it cools down, air comes in. If the valves are clogged with dirt, the process is blocked and the battery cannot “breathe”.

We offer valve cleaning as a service. This involves removing the accumulator and inspecting the brake lines underneath. We also clean the mounting rails and apply a rubber-based corrosion inhibitor before reinstalling the battery. On the Tesla Model S, the air conditioning drain line is awkwardly positioned, causing condensation to drip onto the battery. If necessary, we install a flexible extension to allow the liquid to drain to the side.

When you bring your vehicle in, we take the time to thoroughly inspect it and document its condition. We explain what needs to be done and what it will cost. Your questions will be answered patiently and at eye level.

Car repairs cost time and nerves. In addition, there is the fear of having to say goodbye to your vehicle or incurring unexpected costs. With us, you can be sure that we are committed and competent, and that the price we quote you is realistic.

Occasionally, during the repair process, additional damage may be found, or a problem may be more complicated than initially thought. If this happens, you can rest assured that we will not proceed until we have discussed it with you.

Advising our customers is as important to us as the repair itself. We are happy to invest this time because we want you to go home knowing that you have received a fair, thorough and conscientious service.

HV-Trainings

We start with HV trainings in our new training room. Our Level S, S1 and S2 trainings are cross-brand and intended for anyone who works with electric vehicles on a professional basis. In particular, for automotive service professionals and emergency responders who work on or near high-voltage components.

We launch into space

A glass panel engraved with thousands of photos of Tesla customers will be sent into space on August 4 on a SpaceX rocket.
On board is a laser-engraved image of our team. Mars Orbiter is now on its way to unknown horizons.
Winner of the 24 hour race

On February 18-19, 2022, a 24-hour race for electric production cars was held at the Hockenheim F1 Ring. Mars-Orbiter was part of the team “Roadster Classic” of Neuss GmbH. The team traveled very minimalistically with 4 garden chairs, a portable pizza oven and a small DC charger. All this was enough to finish 1st place with 19 laps to spare.

New building for our company

Mars Orbiter’s new workshop is being built in Malsfeld, in the heart of Germany, just 300 meters as the crow flies from the nearest Tesla Supercharger.
The location is ideally situated, with direct access to the A7 (Kassel-Frankfurt) via exit 83.

Mars Orbiter pieces & services GmbH is registered in the commercial register of the local court of Fritzlar under the commercial register number HRB 12490. The workshop is located at Elfershäuser Straße in Melsungen, Germany.
